Green Mountain College's commitment to a successful volleyball program is best shown in its hiring of first-year coach Candy Rice. She brings with her valuable experience and expertise both as a player and as a coach.

Her background includes coaching stints at an elite prep school in Kansas City and as head coach at Pillsbury College, her alma mater, in Minnesota. Her involvement in athletics at Pillsbury was impressive as she was a four-year starter in volleyball, basketball, and softball.

In volleyball, she was named an All-Conference and All-Region player each year she played, and was named an NCCAA All-American Scholar-Athlete her senior year. In basketball, she was also an All-Conference and All-Region player each year, as well as being named an NCCAA All-American Athlete her senior year.

Rice owns her own business, working as a software trainer and website designer. She is currently an adjunct instructor at the Community College of Vermont in Bennington, and is working on plans to open a new computer center in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where she lives with her husband Tim.

Tim Rice joins his wife in a first-year assistant coach capacity. He brings with him valuable experience in the coaching profession.

Tim has been a basketball coach at the high school or college level since his graduation from the University of Mobile in Alabama. Most recently he was the Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at Calvary College in Kansas City, Missouri. This year he has joined the staff of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, as a men's basketball assistant coach.
